The Borough’s Electronic Recycling Event will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This event is only for residents living in the Borough. This year, residents will be able to recycling up to four (4) electronic items due to cancellation of the 2020 recycling event because of COVID-19. More details will be announced closer to the event. (Click here for detailed information).
The Borough wishes to remind our customers that recycling is mandatory in Waynesboro, and we now use a “single stream” system. All recyclables, including paper goods, cardboard, and a new and larger list of recyclables, are to be co-mingled in the container. A copy of the accepted recyclables is included with this notice.
Also, customers wishing to utilize a large 96-gallon, wheeled trash container may rent one from Waste Management. Please contact Waste Management at 800-593-9529 to order the container.
Due to regulations from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, electronics equipment (including computers, video monitors, TVs and similar items – see the list accompanying this announcement) may not legally be collected by trash haulers. Electronics placed at the curb will be tagged and left at the curb. DO NOT place any prohibited electronics out for collection. Electronics must be taken to an electronics disposal site approved by the PA Department of Environmental Protection. View approved sites at: Department of Environmental Protection.
